The Clinical Team

JOHN SKIDMORE PsyD.
Dr. Jon Skidmore is a licensed clinical psychologist and has been in private practice for 25 years. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Utah State University and his Psy.D. in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Skidmore specializes in performance coaching, anxiety disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, parent coaching, and helping families manage chronic illnesses. He currently serves on the faculty of the Brigham Young University School of Music and has been teaching The Psychology of Music Performance for over 20 years. Dr. Skidmore has recently added addiction recovery, with an emphasis on sex and pornography addiction, as a focus in his practice.
Jon and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 27 years, and they have four children. He loves adventure and exploring and enjoying our beautiful planet. He also enjoys singing and playing his Native American flute.

Gabe Price PhD
Gabe Price is a postdoctoral fellow who has served adults and adolescents in the mental health and coaching field for 7 years. He received his Psy.D. in clinical psychology from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. Gabe is dedicated to serving individuals who present with a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, spirituality, and sexuality-related concerns. He is passionate about providing effective and culturally competent care to individuals with intersecting marginalized identities. Gabe utilizes a holistic approach, having a background as a Certified Integrative Wellness & Life Coach. He focuses on improving the psychological, emotional, spiritual, physical and overall wellness of others. Gabe provides individual, couples, and group therapy using techniques from traditional cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), and reality therapy. He also incorporates body awareness and mindfulness techniques into his therapeutic services.
Gabe enjoys traveling, dining at new restaurants, spending time with loved ones, and engaging in adventurous activities. He also enjoys dancing, singing, and attending festivals.

Karen Fairchild, LCSW
Karen Fairchild is a licensed clinical social worker with eight years of experience as a therapist. Prior to completing graduate work at Brigham Young University, Karen worked for 25 years, both professionally and as a volunteer, advocating for individuals and families with disabilities and mental health concerns in our community. Karen is dedicated to helping individuals and families find the peace and balance in life that we are all seeking. She loves to help parents and married couples rediscover themselves and their relationship. She loves to help in the process of developing effective parenting solutions for “tricky” children of all ages. Typical challenges include autism spectrum disorder, stress, grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, and abuse.
Karen has been married for 37 years and has five adult children, three with autism spectrum disorders. She loves spending time with her four grandsons. She also enjoys music of all kinds, hiking, and yoga.

Ben Weiniemer, LMFT
Benjamin Weinheimer received his bachelor’s degree in literature in 2005 from Iowa State University and received his master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Brigham Young University in 2007. He worked full-time for Wasatch Mental Health for more than nine years and started in private practice in 2017. Ben provides individual, family, couple, and relational therapy with clients of all ages, from children to adults. He specializes in autism spectrum disorders, abuse and trauma, anxiety, depression, executive functioning deficits (like ADHD and learning problems), and behavioral problems. His preferred modes of therapy are cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), child-centered play therapy and filial play therapy, neurocognitive remediation (NCR), experiential therapy, and mindfulness.
Ben and his wife of 20 years have five children. In addition to loving spending time with his family, Ben enjoys reading, playing the ukulele, and building with Legos.

Austin Brunson, LMFT
Austin Brunson (LMFT) graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Brigham Young University and completed his master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Utah State University. He has also worked in development, facilitation, and research of community education on healthy dating, couple, and parenting relationships.
Austin has a strength of fostering secure, comfortable relationships with clients while being able to challenge them at the same time. His goal is to increase insight and confidence while addressing existing constraints. Austin particularly enjoys treating children and adolescents, couples (infidelity, conflict management, parenting, etc.), and families (grief, relationship distress, traumas, etc.). He approaches therapy with a strong collaborative approach, relying heavily on humanistic, systemic models of therapy including experiential models, structural family therapy, and play therapy.
Austin is kind, supportive, and easy-going. He enjoys spending time with his wife and kiddos, and any type of work with his hands.

Pat McGuines, LCMHC
Patrick McGuinness specializes in helping couples and families develop healthy emotional boundaries, improve relationships and resolve conflict. He also works with individuals to help reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression using EMDR, Ego State Therapy and other modalities to resolve painful and often traumatic experiences from earlier stages of life. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Plymouth State University in 1992 and his Master’s degree from Antioch New England in 1995. Pat has been practicing psychotherapy for over 25 years, and in that time he has expanded his breadth of practice to include life coaching, sport psychology and the integration of psychedelic experiences.
In his free time, Pat enjoys skiing, hang gliding, paragliding and practicing Yoga.

Ali Hansen, LAMFT
Alison Hansen earned her bachelor’s degree in public health from Brigham Young University and her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Utah State University. She provides therapy in both English and Spanish.
Ali enjoys empowering people of various ages to navigate the challenges they face. She offers a safe, grounding presence that helps balance multiple perspectives within couple and family systems. She finds particular fulfillment in working with adolescents, adults, and couples on issues of anxiety, depression, self-esteem, emotion regulation, and communication. Ali believes in the innate goodness of each person and strives to increase their belief in themselves as rational, reasonable, resilient human beings. She utilizes narrative and family systems theories to help people create solutions that fit for their unique circumstances.
Others have described Ali as intelligent, practical, and compassionate. When she is not at work, Ali enjoys running, biking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

Cassandra Cooper, LACSW
Cassandra Cooper received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an Emphasis in Health-Psychology from Brigham Young University-Idaho and her master’s degree in Social Work from Arizona State University. Prior to her graduate work at Arizona State University, Cassandra worked with adolescent girls in the residential treatment setting, and children in the education setting. Cassandra enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults on issues of anxiety and depression, and she specializes in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder and related conditions. Cassandra is dedicated to forming meaningful connections and the development of strong therapeutic alliances as individuals work through life’s challenges with confidence and hope. Cassandra strongly believes in unconditional positive regard and the dignity and worth of every person.
In addition to spending time with her husband, Cassandra enjoys singing, swimming, taking care of her plants, and watching K-dramas.
The Coaching Team

Rob Dindinger, PhD.
Dr. Rob Dindinger is the owner of Utah Valley Psychology Counseling and Coaching. He spends most of his time making sure UVPCC runs smoothly. In recent years he had stepped away from clinical practice and has done some limited work as a life coach helping individuals and couples improve their communication, social skills, and life skills. He is best known for his work in the Autism community using his coaching skills to help adults with social deficits adapt and improve their functioning in college, work and family environments.
Recently Dr. Dindinger has returned to clinical practice and is now taking new therapy clients. He is currently working under supervision on an active license on probation. He is excited to spend this time improving his clinical skills and learning from his supervisor.
Dr. Dindinger received his PhD. in clinical psychology, specializing in child and family psychological services from Brigham Young University. He completed a prestigious internship at Primary Children’s Medical Center working with children, teens, and parents struggling with a broad range of mental health challenges. Rob has a history of success in the mental health field running several residential treatment units for children and teens. He is the Author of the book “Pornography Addiction Breaking the Chains: A Workbook of Essential Tools for Recovery”. He has also created the Chain Breaker phone app to help individuals overcome challenging patterns of behavior related to pornography.
Rob is originally from Juneau, Alaska and has a great love for the outdoors. His passions include spending time with his family, Utah Jazz Basketball (almost all basketball games that he can play in or watch), and new experiences.

Dr. Skidmore specializes in performance coaching, parent coaching, and helping families manage chronic illnesses. He currently serves on the faculty of the Brigham Young University School of Music and has been teaching The Psychology of Music Performance for over 20 years.
Jon and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 27 years, and they have four children. He loves adventure and exploring and enjoying our beautiful planet. He loves the outdoors and is happy whether he is walking in the jungle of Peru, repelling through a slot canyon in southern Utah, or cross-country skiing through a mountain meadow. He also enjoys singing and playing his Native American flute.

In addition to their clinical work, Dr. Price is very skilled as a Certified Integrative Wellness & Life Coach. He focuses on a holistic and integrative approach to helping individuals with sub clinical challenges improve their life.
Gabe enjoys traveling, dining at new restaurants, spending time with loved ones, and engaging in adventurous activities. He also enjoys dancing, singing, and attending festivals.

Rob Dindinger, PhD., Owner
Dr. Rob Dindinger is the owner of Utah Valley Psychology Counseling and Coaching. He spends most of his time making sure UVPCC runs smoothly. He is more than happy to work through any problems that may arise as the practice. He is committed to making UVPCC one of the best clinics in the state. He knows this starts with treating people fairly and getting them the help they need.

Ella, Billing Specialist
Ella leads our billing department and works hard to make sure our clients get the insurance benefits they are entitled to. She has has been working at Utah Valley Psychology since the summer of 2017 while working on a degree at Utah Valley University. In her free time she enjoys drawing, shopping, and playing with her dog "Jazzy".

Lexi, Receptionist
Lexie grew up in Bardstown, KY and is currently attending Provo College in their Physical Therapist Assistant program. She served a church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints mission in Paraguay where she learned Spanish. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going on outdoor adventures, and having a good laugh.

Aubrey, Billing Assistant
Aubrey is an exceptionally hard working billing assistant. She is currently attending Utah Valley University studying English Literature. When Aubrey is not working or going to school, she enjoys all types of shows, movies, and literature. She particularly likes playing with her Siberian Husky, Charlie.

Bella, Receptionist
Bella is one of our Spanish speaking experts and is currently studying psychology at Brigham Young University. She hopes someday to work with and improve the lives of children and their families. She enjoys traveling and has been to 12 different countries so far. She has a big heart and most recently spent time in Malawi helping at a refugee camp. She absolutely loves thunderstorms!
